It's football season, so it's our toughest time of year. We only have two more games to go!! Sarah Hanks is doing an excellent job managing our football parking responsibilities. Our football parking is our biggest money-maker of the entire year. It's because of football parking that we can fund so many great organizations and projects.

For some reason, it seems more and more difficult for the club to staff all the parking lots with each passing year. Please remember that our club is contractually obligated to staff all the parking lots on the sign-up

sheet. In particular, the shift right before the game starts is very difficult to fill. The more we have to farm out the shifts to other organizations, the less money there is available for the groups and projects Kiwanis would like to support. Please help out in any way you can. Even if you aren't able to park on game days, there are ways you can help us out on other days. And let me give a very big thanks to those who have been helping us with football parking. Thank You!

Our Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast (or for the more rustic of you, the Ki wanis Pancake Feed) will be held the first day of December. You should be getting your packet of breakfast tickets to sell very soon. Be sure to sell them to your friends, family, and neighbors or you can purchase them yourselves and give them away. If you donate them to the Commu nity Action Center, they will be happy to distribute them to those in our community who otherwise would be unable to attend. Also, look for the Super Handy Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast Sign-up List at the meetings and sign up for a shift doing something you enjoy. The Pancake Break fast is always a ton of fun. It's a great way for our Club to ring the Christmas (or holiday) season into the Palouse! See you there.

EDITOR'S CORNER

by Frank Farrow

President Devon asked me to remind everyone that our Basket ball Parking Fundraiser begins even before Football Parking ends. Our first contractual parking assignment is Friday 9NOV07 and the next is Friday 16NOV07. If you can volunteer for these games please sign up at a Kiwanis meeting or contact Past-President Suzy Scott (address lower left this page.)

The Kiwanis Brainstorming session on October 4th generated some excel lent ideas for the future of our club. Board members are organizing the ideas and deciding which ones to bring before the committee chairs and general membership for further action. Thanks to everyone who partici pated.

Thanksgiving facts: 272 million is the preliminary estimate of turkeys raised in the United States in 2007. That's up 4 percent from 2006. The tur keys produced in 2005 together weighed 7.2 billion pounds and were valued at $3.2 billion.

Always remember & never forget: Writing with a broken pencil is pointless.

The deadline for articles submitted for the December Bulletin is Sunday 25NOV07. The Bulletin is published the last Thursday of each month.
